Throughout this second term we will get hurling and camogie training from Lisa every Wednesday. This is to help learn new skills and improve the ones we have already learned. We do lots of group games and activities which really helps us to work together as a team.

We wold like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for taking part in our free dress day which raised €312.80 for Focus Ireland. We set ourselves a target of €100 so we are thrilled to have raised over three times that amount. Thanks to everyone for your kindness and generosity. You are amazing!

After many weeks of practicing, we did our Christmas Performance with the Music Generation teachers today. We performed songs like ‘A Blues’, Glory Be’ and Jingles Bells. For many of us it was the first time performing with our instruments in front of an audience and we were fantastic!

After learning about homelessness in our SESE First and Second class wanted to do something to help people who have lost their homes and found themselves homeless. We decided to organise a free dress day in order to raise money for Focus Ireland. It will take place on Friday December 18th. We would like everyone to bring in €1 or more if possible, and wear in their own clothes on that day. We are hoping to raise €100 for the charity. Focus Ireland provide many services for people who are homeless like giving out hot meals, advice and education. We are looking forward to our Free Dress Day and are hoping to see lots of Christmas jumpers!!!!

For our art we have been learning about the artist Claude Monet and his style of Impressionism painting. We created our own versions of his painting of the Japanese Bridge by using masking tape to create the shape of the bridge
Then we mixed different shades and hues of our paint and applies it using a dabbing technique to get a blurred effect.
Here we are with some of our finished pieces.
In our science lesson today we were learning about magnets and exploring magnetism. We worked in pairs to carry out an investigation into what magnets attract. We gathered objects made from lots of different materials and we predicted whether or not they would be attracted to the magnet. We then used a magnet to test each object and recorded our results. Some of the results were quite surprising. We had great fun working as scientists and investigating magnetism!
