We were getting to know each other by playing together. We were learning how to co-operate, share, take turns and be a good friend. We also had great fun!
Senior Infants
We would like to extend a big St Finian’s welcome to our new children in the infant classroom.
We had a lovely first day at school. We built things with the lego, mobilio and interstar construction toys. We played with the doll’s house and the car mat. We drew some pictures. We learned our friends’ names and played some games. We sang some songs. After our lunch, we had fun playing in the playground. Maybe we will come back tomorrow!
It’s here! The school has made another wonderful achievement after receiving an Active School Flag. This is a very highly sought after award and everybody at St. Finian’s is very proud. An Active assessor visited St. Finian’s on Tuesday morning and all the active reps along with Mr.Shevlin showed him all our active efforts to date through, pictures, displays, videos, PowerPoints and active demonstrations at break time. He was amazed at all the activities we had in place at school. A big thank you to all the people who helped out with the initiative, from the hardworking pupils, teachers, coaches and of course the parents who helped greatly with our ‘WOW’, ‘Be Active’ and ‘Get Fit in February’ programmes. We will formally present and raise the flag at our Graduation Mass day on Wednesday 24th of June!

We had great fun at home decorating our bicycles. We cycled around the school to show off our ‘Blinged-up-Bikes’ for ‘Active School Week’! Check out our photos!
We had a lovely surprise today. Mrs Bellew brought in 2 lovely chicks. We got to pet the chicks and hold them. They are 3 weeks old and are getting big already! The chicks felt very soft and warm. They were pecking the ground looking for something to eat. Thank you Mrs. Bellew!
The Easter Bunny paid us a visit this morning! He left clues around our classroom and our school – so we went on an Easter egg hunt! We were very clever and solved all the clues. They led us to the boat where the eggs were hidden. Yum yum! Happy Easter everyone!
