On Monday 8th June we went to Tayto Park for our school tour. We enjoyed the bus ride and were so excited when we saw the wooden roller coaster at the park. First we got to visit all the animals – even a raccoon! We enjoyed a trip around the Tayto factory and then it was straight into the vortex tunnel. We had a lovely relaxing lunch in the restaurant and then it was off to the theme park for the rides. We went on the roller coaster which was so scary !! Then it was the 5D cinema which was great fun. Remember the spiders !! Some people went on the air racers which were awesome – we ended up upside down for a few seconds. The rotator looked too terrifying for us.The zip line was brilliant. The sky walk was challenging but we all felt great when we finished it. We were exhausted when we got back to the school. It was a BRILLIANT school tour. Here are some photos ….

For our 60th school anniversary we set up an old style classroom and in it we displayed all our school photos from years past. We also displayed our old school roll books and registers. They date from 1907. Lots of people came to find their names in the roll books and view the photos. O’ Neills bakery in Annagassan baked a special 60th birthday cake for the school. Pupils interviewed their parents and grandparents who attended St. Finian’s over the years. Here are some photos….
On Sunday June 7th 2015 we had a special outdoor mass at the school to celebrate our 60th anniversary at St. Finian’s school. Fr. Daly said the mass for us and the school choir sang our favourite hymns. Teachers , school staff and pupils helped with readings and prayers. It was a lovely sunny day and many past pupils and parents came for the mass. Happy 60th St. Finians. Here are some photos ….
