Hard luck to our boys who narrowly lost out to a strong Muchgrange side yesterday. The game was played in Cooley Kickhams GAA pitch under great conditions. St. Finian’s fought back in the second half to try salvage the game but time was not on our side. Great effort boys!

Well done to our boys Gaelic team who reached the semi final of the Cumann na mBunscol Sciath Uí Dhuinneachdha yesterday. The boys beat a competitive Phillipstown N.S. team in St. Kevins on a scoreline of 5-4 to 2-2. The semi final will be played next week. Well done boys.

On Wednesday, the 25th of September, we visited Clogherhead Beach. We witnessed the launch of the new RNLI lifeboat. The pupils took part in a variety of educational and fun activities. It was a great day for everyone involved.
Well done to our school Gaelic team who competed well at the 11 a-side Cumann na mBunscol blitz in Phillpistown yesterday. The blitz was played in beautiful sunny conditions. The school beat Walshestown in a very impressive win. We played out a draw with Phillipstown and lost narrowly to Dromin. We were also beaten respectfully by All County champions Stabannon.

Well done to our girls soccer team who competed today in the FAI Louth schools finals for small schools. The girls played three highly competitive games and finished third overall. They qualified for the finals a number of weeks ago. In the first game,they beat Walshestown B 5-1. In the second game, they lost out to Walshestown A 4-2. In their final game they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Ardaghy.
Well done to all the girls for making it to the finals.

Also best of luck to Áine who is also competing in the final with some friends.It is an amazing achievement to reach the final. There are still a few tickets reserved for Ellie and Cillian’s act available from The Sound Shop(Next door to the the TLT). Please call the shop beforehand to ensure these tickets have not been sold. The show gets underway at 7pm. We are calling on all friends and family to give our acts the best support tonight.
