Fourth Class represented their survey using ‘meta-chart’ which allowed them to insert the information and a bar-chart/pie-chart would be produced for them. Third class represented their data using cubes and their individual whiteboards.
Last week four of our amazing pupils in 6th class took part in a cross country race for primary pupils all across Co. Louth! The race was 1.5 km in distance and we had two boys and two girls participating.
Cillian Burke and George Bellew competed with over 120 boys from various schools and both boys finished respectively in the middle of the field.
Hannah Hanratty and Áine Murray competed in the girls race with 114 competitors from all around the Wee County. The girls competed magnificently on the day with both finishing in the top 10. Hannah finished in 9th with Áine finishing in an amazing 5th place. It was a remarkable effort from the girls.
We are extremely proud of all four of our pupils who competed in Termonfeckin last week!
We studied Vincent Van Gogh, his life and his artwork over the past two weeks. Today we created our own version of one of his most famous paintings ‘Starry Night’.
Shape Hunt
Today 3rd and 4th Class took part in a shape hunt. 3rd class focused on finding shapes they learned about this week, including a pentagon, hexagon and octagon. 4th class focused on the different types of triangles. After we took our pictures we described them using our ‘Explain Everything’ app and we all listened to each teams work.
Last Friday, on the 28th of September, the school traveled to Port Beach. All of the classes engaged with Science lessons as we examined the life found on our coast. Each class also took part in a number of games on the beach which they loved! 3rd – 6th Class were given an ‘Art Attack’ task and the results were amazing.
