Last week we went all Medieval and built ourselves some castles! The children went home and took on the task of designing and building their own castle to rule over. It’s design was based of the stone castles the Normans built around Ireland.
The children did a fantastic job and really put a huge effort in, here are some of the Kings and Queens and their castles.
We also made some catapults so that we could lay siege to each other in our castle battles. In these games the children had to knock over little army men in their opponents castle. Here’s some of the catapults we made.
All you need is 6 lollipop sticks and 3 rubber bands.
Next just follow these steps and you can make your own!
Now its ready to fire!
We had a visit from the parents to see all the work the children put in and how the castles wars were turning out. It was a very successful day altogether!
