Parents Association AGM

Many thanks to all those parents who attended the Parents Association AGM, held on October 15th
2014. We will endeavour this year to reduce the pressure on parents and as such we have five events
this year.

Events

Friday 12th December Movie night with Xmas Raffle at 5pm
Friday 30th January Quiz Night
Sunday 15th February Valentine Cake Sale
Sunday 22nd March School Walk
Sunday 24th May School Fete
These events are fun occasions to give an opportunity to socialise as a school community and to
raise extra funds for the school. Please note the dates and try to support the school community if
you can.

Christmas

The school carol service 17th December at 7pm is always a wonderful occasion and helps everyone
join in the Christmas spirit.
Please note school will close at 12 Noon on Friday 19th December and reopens Monday 5th January.

First Communion

First communion will be held on Saturday the 9th May. It is a lovely family event. We are asking for
the support of 3rd class parents to help out this year, as they have been through the process and know
what is involved.

New Security Measures

For the safety of our children in the school, after 9.30 am all doors are locked. If you need access
please press buzzer located on the front door with wheelchair access. Someone will come and help.

Fundraising

Many thanks to Eileen Murray, Declan Furlong and Mary Casey who raised more than €2500
collectively. A wonderful effort and gift to the children of St Finians.

We will be holding our first committee meeting for the 2014/2015 school year on Tuesday 4th November at 8pm.

The Parents Association plays a very important role within the school and without the continued support from everyone we would be unable to run our events. The income generated from these events goes towards new books, buses for school trips, Holy Communion, End of Year Awards etc.

Bearing all this in mind we are appealing for new members & volunteers to join our committee.

A note will be going home with the children & we would encourage you to sign up and come along to our first meeting on Tuesday 4th November at 8pm.

We’re looking forward to welcoming new members & volunteers.

The Parents Association would like to thank everyone who supported us during the last year.

We are looking forward to another great year along with your continued support.

Our AGM will take place in the School Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday 15th October.

We are looking for one parent from every family to attend on the night.

We currently have 2 vacant officer posts – Chairperson & Secretary.

We will be forming a new committee on the night and we are encouraging you all to get involved. If you don’t want to take on an officer role at this stage you could become a committee member or a volunteer.
