We decided to do another Bake Sale on Friday the 6th of November. This year we chose to not give the money to the school and instead give it to the following charities: ‘Saint Vincent de Paul’, ‘Make a Wish Ireland’ and ‘Irish Cancer Society’. We ended up selling all the cakes, buns and treats. We also sold lots of toys and books at the Bring & Buy sale. And we gathered lots of goodies to make a huge hamper for Saint Vincent de Paul to give to families at Christmas. We also a lot raised money through a raffle! It was a great success. We RAISED €1000!!!! €300 will be given to Saint Vincent de Paul and the remaining €700 will be split between the other two charities mentioned above! We just want to thank all the parents who helped out and we would not have been able to do this without your help! Here are some photos from the day! By 6th class girls.
A huge well done to our quiz team who retained their Cumann na mBunscoil County Quiz title in Knockbridge N.S. yesterday. The team scored a very impressive 72 from 80 questions and came out on top after a Tie Breaker Round of 5 questions and a sudden death question against a strong Monksland N.S.
The cup, which we won for the first time last year, will stay in St. Finian’s for a 2nd year! Well done Alex, Catherine, Chloe, Jamie & Shona!
Well done to all the boys and girls who made it into the top 3 in the three different age categories of the Credit Union Art Poster Completion.
Well done to Darragh Grimes who came 3rd place in the Under 7’s.Well done to Irene Aji who came 3rd place in the 8-10’s category. Well done to Hannah Sheridan who came 3rd in the 11-13’s category and a very well done to Shona Murray who came 1st in the 11-13’s!
The boys and girls will receive their prizes at a presentation in the Connect CU office in Annagassan tonight 18th November at 7pm, followed by refreshments afterwards in The Glyde Inn.
