The pupils in 5th and 6th class made a super effort for ‘Dress Up Day’. The homemade costumes were very impressive and it was very clear that a lot of hard work went into making them. We had all sorts of costumes on the day!

The Be Active Programme is up and running! The first block is focussing on Athletics. The 2nd class pupils have been busy perfecting all the different skills associated with Athletics. All the pupils are having great fun, while also getting fit at the same time. Big thanks to the parent leaders who are doing an excellent job helping out with programme. The last session of block 1 will take place next Wednesday, the 22nd of October!
5th and 6th class have been maximising their maths skills using a brilliant new online learning centre called “The Khan Academy” Each pupil has a profile and are working at a level that suits them! Each pupil can generate points by practicing maths skills. They can earn more points by mastering that skill. Both classes have two separate competitions on Khan up to the mid Term Break.
The Ipads and laptops have proved to be brilliant resources for using Khan Academy!
We have decided that we will run the “Turkeys For Christmas” project for a second consecutive year. The pupils of fifth and sixth class will be rearing 25 turkeys up to Christmas. A certain quantity will be sold at a fixed price and the remaining turkeys will be sold at auction close to Christmas. Fifth and Sixth class would like to thank John and Brian O’Neill for their help with the project once again. We would also like to thank the Parents Association for providing the loan to make the project possible!
Dont forget to get your turkey from Fifth and Sixth folks! Spread the word!
More news and updates on the turkeys to follow…
