Sunday’s fun day to celebrate 60 years of St Finian’s NS was a resounding success. Whoever ordered the weather for the day did a great job, all of the children seemed to have a great time and past pupils had a chance to reminisce about their time at the school in the classroom which had been specially set up with old desks, blackboards, books and roll books.
The school and the Parents’ Association would like to thank everybody who helped out with all of the various tasks involved in making the day happen – planning in the weeks prior to the event, setting up (early!) on Sunday morning, running the various events on the day, contributing to the school fund and helping with the cleanup afterwards. Parents from St Finian’s and St Colmcille’s (Tullydonnell) worked together to clear up at the end of the day, after a competitive football match earlier on! This was especially appreciated by those who had been around for the early set up and were starting to flag as the evening wore on!
We would also like to say a huge thank you to O’Neill’s Bakery, Durnin’s Butchers and Coca Cola for providinggreat cake, hot dogs, burgers and drinks. And the kind parents who lent us barbeques, extension leads etc without which we would have had great difficulties! Your help was much appreciated.
So thank you for everything that you did and looking forward to doing it all again next year!
